Declaration

 

LET PREVENT HUMAN BEING BE SUBJECT TO DISCRIMINATION BASED ON DIFFERENT POINT OF VIEW OR OPINION

 

On the basis of the website of Kurdistan Human Rights (KHRN) more than eighty Kurd prisoners, who all of them are convicted for their political and civic activities, have begun a hunger strike. These civic and political prisoners, in order to inform all people about their goals of this hunger strike issued a manifest on Monday, August 25th as below:

  1.        The governor power should acknowledge the political and civic identity of the prisoners and should treat them like human and honorably.

  2.        There should be done a research about the death sentences that has been issued for all prisoners and the execution of all political and civic prisoners should be stopped.

  3.        Torturing, torment, and inhuman treatment to all prisoners should be stopped.

  4.        The separation between civic and political prisoners and their exile should be stopped; the condition of prisons should change into a better situation.

  5.        The entire prisons in Iran should indisputably be under the vision of internal and international Human Rights societies.

  6.        The Judicature of Islamic Republic of Iran should modify the laws and set the human Rights as the basis of its laws and actions.

While this hunger strike is going on, eight Kurd civic activist and thinkers have been sentenced to death, seven Kurd civic activists have been sentenced to very heavy and unjust convictions, and also thirteen Kurd activists are in the cells of Islamic Republic and there is no news about their corporeal and psychological situation.

After the beginning of this hunger striking, the families of some of these prisoners in cities like Mehabad and Sanandaj gathered in front of the Islamic Revolution Court in Sanandaj and declared that they support their children. They issued a manifest under the title of “The peaceful manifest of the families of Kurd political prisoners”, which informs all people about the imprudence of Justice System of Islamic Republic about the hunger striking of their children. In this manifest they have declared: “We want the chief of the Islamic Republic Judicature should be under pressure in order to be prevented of the pressures that is exerting on the life of these prisoners, we also want the Judicature to release our children. We know that this is our natural and legal rights to support the hunger striking of our children.”

It should be noted that the families of these prisoners have declared in their manifest that they want to be supported by all social costs and all civic activists in Kurdistan and have asked them to cooperate in their aggregation.

We, as the members of the Iranian Kurdistan Pen Society, together with civic societies, political activists, and others, declare our supporting these prisoners and their families. We also expect that the chief of Judicature of Islamic Republic of Iran and other responsible to pay attention to the hunger striking and prepare appropriate situation for these prisoners to be released.
